Timer Board — Multiple Timers and a Talk Timer
Run several timers at once: countdowns with alarms, stopwatches, and talk timers that turn amber and red and count overtime, full screen for a room. Survives reloads.
Add a timer
How is this calculated?
Time left = length − (time banked before the last start + now − last start). The alarm is one timeout set for the soonest end, so a background tab still rings on time.Runs in your browser — nothing you enter leaves this device.
About this tool
What it does
Timer Board runs as many as twelve timers side by side, each with its own name, its own controls and its own alarm, so the rice, the dal and the oven can each count down at once, a lab can time several samples, an invigilator can run exam sections, and a gym can run stations. Add a countdown, a stopwatch or a talk timer, give it a name, and pick a length from the quick buttons or type one (10:00, 90s, 1h 30m). A talk timer is made for speakers, debates, viva exams and conference sessions: it is green while there is time, turns amber when it is time to wrap up (a fifth of the time left, at most five minutes) and red for the last minute, then keeps counting overtime with a plus sign instead of stopping. Each card also says its state in words — Running, Wrap up, Last minute, Over time — so nothing depends on colour alone. Full screen fills the display with the time and its colour, large enough to read from the back of a room or the stage. When a countdown reaches zero it beeps, flashes its card, shows a notification if you allow one, and stops; a talk timer beeps and carries on. Every timer keeps time from the clock rather than by counting ticks, so it stays right in a background tab, on a laptop that slept, and after a reload: the board is kept on this device and comes back as you left it. The soonest timer is shown in the tab title. Start all and Pause all control the whole board at once.
How to use it
- Choose Countdown, Talk or Stopwatch, name it and set a length.
- Add as many as you need; start each, or Start all.
- Use Full screen on a talk timer for the speaker or the room.
- Reset, remove or restart a finished countdown from its card.
Limits and your data
- Keep the page open for the alarm to sound. A phone may still silence it or sleep the browser; a notification helps when allowed.
- Browsers only play sound after you have pressed a button on the page, so start timers with a tap or click.
- Full screen is not available on iPhone for web pages; turn the phone sideways and hide the toolbars instead.
- Up to twelve timers.
- Everything runs in your browser and works offline. The board is kept on this device only; nothing is sent anywhere.
Questions
Can I run several timers at the same time?
Yes — up to twelve, each named, each with its own alarm. They keep running in a background tab and after a reload.
What is a talk timer?
A countdown for speakers: green, then amber when it is time to wrap up, red for the last minute, then it counts overtime as +01:05 instead of stopping, so the chair can see how far over a speaker is.
Will the alarm work if I switch tabs?
Yes. The alarm is set for the exact end time, which browsers keep even for a background tab. Allow notifications to see it from another tab or app.
Can I show the timer on a projector?
Press Full screen on its card: the time fills the screen in large type, coloured by its state.
