Flashcards — Spaced Repetition Decks and Tests
Make flashcard decks or import them from a spreadsheet, Anki or Quizlet, study with spaced repetition and test yourself. Saved on your device; works offline.

How is this calculated?
New or relearning card: Hard or Good → 1 day, Easy → 4 days. Learnt card: Hard → interval × 1.2, Good → interval × ease, Easy → interval × ease × 1.3, always at least a day longer than before. Again → back today; a learnt card forgotten loses 0.2 ease. Ease starts at 2.5, never below 1.3; Hard −0.15, Easy +0.15. Gaps are whole days, capped at 100 years.Runs in your browser — nothing you enter leaves this device.
About this tool
What it does
Flashcards turns anything you need to remember — vocabulary, formulas, dates, drug names — into decks of question-and-answer cards, and tells you which ones to study each day. Make a deck, then add cards one at a time or import a whole list: copy two columns from a spreadsheet, paste an export from Anki or Quizlet (a tab between term and definition), or open a CSV file. Study shows a question; you recall the answer, reveal it, and say how well you remembered — Again, Hard, Good or Easy. Cards you know well come back after longer and longer gaps (a day, three days, a week, a month…); cards you forget come back the same day. This is spaced repetition, the method behind Anki and SuperMemo: a lot remembered for a long time in a few minutes a day. Test mode asks cards in random order as multiple choice or typed answers and scores you, without changing the schedule — useful the night before an exam. Progress shows the week’s reviews, your cards by stage, the share remembered in 30 days and your streak. Everything is saved on this device and works offline; a backup file moves your decks to another device.
How to use it
- Make a deck — or try the example deck.
- Add cards, or paste or open a list under Add and import.
- Open Study each day: Space shows the answer, then 1 Again, 2 Hard, 3 Good, 4 Easy.
- Use Test before an exam, and Progress to see what is coming up.
- Download a backup now and then.
Limits and your data
- Cards are plain text, up to 2,000 characters a side; line breaks are kept. Images, audio and formatting are not supported.
- The schedule is SM-2 as Anki uses it, without Anki’s learning steps in minutes or its newer FSRS model; a card answered Again simply comes back later in the same session.
- Up to 50 decks of 5,000 cards. Two devices do not sync by themselves: move a backup between them.
- A typed answer counts if it matches ignoring case, spacing and punctuation, or is one letter off in an answer of six letters or more. Numbers must match.
- Your decks, cards and progress are kept only in this browser on this device (they are in Export my data and removed by Delete everything). Nothing is uploaded, and files you import are read on your device. Clearing site data, or Safari after seven days unused, removes them — keep a backup.
Questions
How many new cards should I study a day?
Twenty is the usual start. Each new card brings back several reviews over the following weeks, so 20 new a day settles at roughly 100–200 reviews a day. Lower it in Deck settings if reviews pile up.
Can I import my Anki or Quizlet cards?
Yes. In Anki, export notes as plain text; in Quizlet, export with a tab between term and definition and a new line between cards. Paste the text under Add and import, or open the file. Cards already in the deck are not added twice. Scheduling history is not carried over: imported cards start as new.
What do Again, Hard, Good and Easy do?
Each button shows when you will see the card next. Again means you forgot it: it comes back today. Hard gives a slightly longer gap, Good the normal one, and Easy a much longer one. Answer honestly: Good should mean you really remembered.
What if I miss a day?
Nothing is lost. Overdue cards wait in the queue, oldest first, and it catches up in a few days.
Does a test change my schedule?
No. Tests are for checking yourself; only Study answers move cards. Test the ones you got wrong again from the results.
