Free billing for small businesses: GST invoices and quotations from saved customers and products, numbered by financial year, with payments, receipts, dues and a CSV register.

How is this calculated?
Line taxable value = quantity × rate, in whole paise. Within a state CGST and SGST are each half the rate, rounded separately; between states IGST is the full rate. Balance = invoice total − payments recorded.

About this tool

What it does

Billing Studio is simple billing for a shop, a freelancer or a small firm, kept entirely in your browser. Fill in your business profile once — name, address, GSTIN and state, logo, bank or UPI details, standard terms and the signatory — and it is printed on every document. Save your customers and the products or services you sell, with their HSN or SAC code, unit, rate and GST rate, and pick them on any invoice instead of typing them again. Make quotations, tax invoices and, if you are not registered for GST, bills of supply. Numbers follow on by financial year (INV/2026-27/001, 002 …, starting again each April), never reusing a number and never longer than the 16 characters rule 46 allows. GST is worked out to the paise for every line: CGST and SGST within your state, IGST between states, decided from your state and the place of supply, with a tax summary by rate and the amount in words. An accepted quotation becomes an invoice in one press, keeping its customer and lines and pointing back to the quotation. Record each payment against an invoice — UPI, bank transfer, cash, cheque or card, with its reference — and a numbered receipt is made for it. The register shows what you billed, received and still have to collect this financial year, what is overdue, and which customers owe the most; search by number, customer or GSTIN. An issued invoice is cancelled rather than deleted, so its number stays accounted for. Download the invoice register as a CSV with taxable value, CGST, SGST, IGST, payments and balance for your accountant, and download a backup of everything to restore on another device.

How to use it
  1. Fill in Business profile once; add customers and products as you go.
  2. Press New invoice or New quotation, choose the customer and add the items.
  3. Save, then print or save as PDF. Make an invoice from an accepted quotation.
  4. Record payments as they arrive and print each receipt; download a backup regularly.
Limits and your data
  • This is not e-invoicing: invoices are not reported to the IRP and carry no IRN or QR code. Businesses above the e-invoicing turnover limit must use the government portal or software connected to it.
  • It does not file GST returns. The CSV helps prepare GSTR-1, but check it against the portal.
  • GST rates are typed by you; the page does not look them up. Credit notes, e-way bills, inventory and multi-user access are not included.
  • Your records live in one browser. To use another device, download a backup and restore it there.
  • Nothing is uploaded: your books stay in this browser on this device, work offline, and are never synced. They are included in Export my data and removed by Delete everything. Clearing the browser’s site data deletes them too — keep the backup file safe.

Questions

Is this free billing software for GST?

Yes, with no sign-up. It makes GST tax invoices, bills of supply, quotations and receipts, and keeps your customers, products and payments in your browser.

Can I delete an invoice?

An issued invoice is cancelled instead: it stays in the register marked Cancelled and its number is not reused, so your numbering has no gaps to explain. Quotations can be deleted.

How are invoice numbers made?

Your prefix, the financial year and a running count: INV/2026-27/001. The next number is one more than the highest used this year, and the count restarts every 1 April. You can type a different number if you need to.

What happens if I clear my browser?

Your records are deleted with the site data. Download a backup from Backup and export regularly; restoring it brings everything back, on this device or another.

Can I give the data to my accountant?

Download the invoice register as a CSV: one row per invoice with the customer’s GSTIN, place of supply, taxable value, CGST, SGST, IGST, total, payments and balance.
