How is this calculated?
1 bar = 100,000 Pa; 1 psi = 6,894.757293 Pa; 1 kgf/cm² = 98,066.5 Pa; 1 atm = 101,325 Pa; 1 mmHg = 133.322387415 Pa; 1 torr = 101,325 ÷ 760 Pa; 1 inHg = 25.4 mmHg = 3,386.389 Pa; 1 hPa = 1 mbar = 100 Pa.Runs in your browser — nothing you enter leaves this device.
About this tool
What it does
Pressure Converter changes a pressure between psi, bar, kilograms-force per square centimetre (kgf/cm²), pascals, hectopascals, kilopascals, megapascals, standard atmospheres, millimetres and inches of mercury, and torr. Each unit has its own world: car and bike tyres in psi or bar, compressors, pumps and pressure cookers in “kg” (kgf/cm²), weather maps in hectopascals (the same as millibars) or inches of mercury, blood pressure in mmHg, hydraulics and material strength in megapascals, and vacuum work in torr. The converter uses each unit’s exact definition — 1 psi is one pound-force on a square inch, 6,894.757 Pa; 1 kgf/cm² is 98,066.5 Pa; 1 atmosphere is 101,325 Pa — so a figure read from one gauge can be set on another without rounding errors.
How to use it
- Type the pressure.
- Choose its unit and the one you want, or press a common conversion such as psi to bar.
- Read the answer, and every other unit in the table below it.
Limits and your data
- Tyre and most other gauges read pressure above the air around them (gauge pressure), not absolute pressure. Converting the unit does not change which one a figure is; do not add or remove an atmosphere unless the figure says “absolute”.
- mmHg and torr differ by about one part in seven million, which matters only in laboratory work.
- Use the pressure your vehicle maker gives (on the door frame or in the manual), measured with the tyres cold.
- Conversions happen in your browser; nothing is sent.
Questions
How many bar is 32 psi?
About 2.21 bar (220.6 kPa). A common car tyre pressure of 30–35 psi is about 2.1–2.4 bar.
What is 1 kg/cm² in psi?
About 14.22 psi, or 0.981 bar. Gauges in India often say “kg” or “kg/cm²” for this unit.
Is a bar the same as an atmosphere?
Nearly: 1 bar is 100,000 Pa and 1 standard atmosphere is 101,325 Pa, so 1 atm = 1.01325 bar = 14.696 psi.
What is 120/80 mmHg in kPa?
About 16.0/10.7 kPa. Blood pressure is still given in mmHg almost everywhere.
What is standard air pressure in hPa and inHg?
At sea level, 1,013.25 hPa (millibar), which is 29.92 inches of mercury and 760 mmHg.
