2.4 GHz =
| Hertz | 2,400,000,000 Hz |
|---|---|
| Kilohertz | 2,400,000 kHz |
| Megahertz | 2,400 MHz |
| Terahertz | 0.0024 THz |
| Revolutions per minute | 144,000,000,000 rpm |
| Beats per minute | 144,000,000,000 bpm |
How is this calculated?
1 kHz = 1,000 Hz; 1 MHz = 10⁶ Hz; 1 GHz = 10⁹ Hz; 1 THz = 10¹² Hz; 1 rpm = 1 bpm = 1/60 Hz.Runs in your browser — nothing you enter leaves this device.
About this tool
What it does
Frequency Converter changes a frequency between hertz, kilohertz, megahertz, gigahertz and terahertz, and between those and revolutions or beats per minute. One hertz is one cycle a second, so the units cover everything that repeats: the 50 Hz mains supply in India, an FM station on 98.3 MHz, a Wi-Fi band at 2.4 or 5 GHz, a processor clock at 3.5 GHz, a motor or fan at 1,440 rpm, a song at 120 beats per minute, or a resting heart rate of 72 bpm (1.2 Hz). Revolutions per minute and beats per minute convert the same way — divide by 60 for hertz — and are kept as separate names so a motor’s speed and a heart rate each read naturally.
How to use it
- Type the frequency.
- Choose its unit and the one you want, or press a common conversion such as rpm to Hz.
- Read the answer, and every other unit in the table below it.
Limits and your data
- Angular frequency (radians per second) is 2π times the frequency in hertz and is not listed.
- To go from a frequency to a wavelength, use the wavelength–frequency formula in the Engineering Calculator.
- An induction motor turns a little slower than its supply’s synchronous speed (1,500 rpm on 50 Hz for a 4-pole motor; nameplates say about 1,440). Converting the unit does not account for that slip.
- Conversions happen in your browser; nothing is sent.
Questions
How do I convert rpm to Hz?
Divide by 60. 3,000 rpm is 50 Hz; 1,440 rpm is 24 Hz. Multiply hertz by 60 to get rpm.
How many MHz is 2.4 GHz?
2,400 MHz. Each step — kHz, MHz, GHz, THz — is 1,000 times the one before.
What frequency is mains electricity in India?
50 Hz, as in most of Europe, Asia and Africa. North America uses 60 Hz.
What is 72 bpm in hertz?
1.2 Hz: 72 beats spread over 60 seconds.
