About this tool
What it does
Trip Cost Calculator works out what a road trip costs and each person’s share. Enter the distance one way and tick there and back for a return trip, your vehicle’s mileage (km per litre, litres per 100 km or mpg) and the fuel price per litre, then the tolls for the whole trip, parking and anything else, such as a driver’s allowance or a car wash. It gives the fuel needed and its cost, the total, and the split between the people going. The split is exact: if the total does not divide evenly, the first few people pay one paisa more, so the shares always add up to the total — no rupee lost to rounding. Prices are always yours to enter: fuel prices change daily and by state, and tolls depend on the road and the vehicle class (FASTag statements and the NHAI toll information show them).

Questions
How do I split a road trip cost?
Add fuel, tolls and parking, and divide by the number of people. This does it to the paisa, so the shares add up exactly.
How much petrol for a 300 km round trip?
At 15 km/L, 600 km takes 40 litres; at ₹95 a litre that is ₹3,800 before tolls.
Where do I find the toll cost?
Your FASTag app shows past tolls on the route, and NHAI publishes the rates for each national-highway plaza.
Does the driver count as a person?
Only if they share the cost. Enter the number of people who are paying.
