Grade Tracker — SGPA, CGPA and Percentage for Every Semester
Track your whole degree: every semester’s courses or SGPA, the CGPA after each, backlogs, percentage, and the SGPA you need for a target CGPA. Saved on your device.

Reach a target CGPA
Average an SGPA of 8.96 over the next 22 credits.
- CGPA = Σ(credits × SGPA) ÷ Σ credits, with each SGPA rounded half up to two places, as UGC’s CBCS guidelines set out. Some universities truncate, or leave failed courses out until cleared: check your grade card.
- CGPA × 9.5 is CBSE’s indicative equivalent; your university may state another formula (see CGPA to Percentage).
Semesters
O 10 · A+ 9 · A 8 · B+ 7 · B 6 · C 5 · P 4 · F 0. Or type the grade points.
Semester 1SGPA 8.67 · 15 credits
Semester 2SGPA 7.92 · 22 credits
How is this calculated?
SGPA = Σ(course credits × grade points) ÷ Σ credits. CGPA = Σ(semester credits × SGPA) ÷ Σ semester credits (UGC CBCS). SGPA needed = (target × (credits so far + credits to come) − points so far) ÷ credits to come.Runs in your browser — nothing you enter leaves this device.
About this tool
What it does
Grade Tracker keeps your whole degree on one page, so you type each result once and always know where you stand. Add a semester for each term. Enter its courses with their credits and letter grades — O, A+, A … on the 10-point UGC scale, or A to F on the US 4.0 scale, or the grade points directly — and its SGPA is worked out for you. If you only have the grade card, switch that semester to “SGPA from grade card” and type the SGPA and credits instead; you can mix both. The page then shows your CGPA, the CGPA after every semester so you can see the trend, your total credits, the number of courses graded F (backlogs), the change from one semester to the next, and, on the 10-point scale, the percentage by CBSE’s rule of CGPA × 9.5. Set a target CGPA and the credits you still have to take, and it tells you the average SGPA you need — or that the target is out of reach, or already safe. The arithmetic is exact: grade points and credits are held as whole numbers and each SGPA is rounded half up to two places once, so 8.125 shows as 8.13 and never as 8.12. Everything you enter is saved on this device as you type and is there next time you open the page; Download CSV gives a transcript to keep or share, and Save as image or Print makes a one-page summary.
How to use it
- Choose your grading scale.
- For each semester, enter its courses — or its SGPA and credits from the grade card.
- Read your CGPA, the semester-by-semester table and the percentage.
- Set a target CGPA and the credits left to see the SGPA you need.
Limits and your data
- Universities differ: some truncate instead of rounding, leave failed courses out of the CGPA until they are cleared, or use their own CGPA-to-percentage formula. Your grade card and regulations are the authority.
- A course repeated after an F is entered in the semester you cleared it; replacing the old grade is your university’s rule to apply.
- Only the 10-point UGC and US 4.0 scales are built in; other scales work by typing grade points.
- Your grades are worked out in your browser and kept only on this device (in Export my data, removed by Delete everything). Nothing is uploaded.
Questions
How is CGPA calculated from SGPA?
Each semester’s SGPA is multiplied by that semester’s credits, the results are added, and the total is divided by all the credits. A semester with more credits counts for more; a plain average of SGPAs is only right when every semester has the same credits.
How do I convert CGPA to percentage?
CBSE’s rule for its own certificates is CGPA × 9.5, shown here. Many universities state a different formula in their regulations; use the CGPA to Percentage page with theirs.
What SGPA do I need to reach my target CGPA?
Enter the target and the credits still to take. The page divides the points you still need by those credits; if the answer is above the scale’s maximum, the target cannot be reached in that many credits.
Is my data saved?
Yes, on this device only, as you type. Start again clears it. Download the CSV to keep a copy elsewhere.
